The sixties were a time when show horses were primarily working ranch horses who competed on the weekends, with the exception of some of the bigger show outfits. Being in California made seeing, and breeding to, top flight working stock horses an easy endeavor. When we decided to search out mares to start our Quarter Horse program, we went to Cabellos Del Mar. They were the place to get quality breeding and show stock from. We had limited finances so elected to purchase two of the best mares our money could buy and that was Cuttin Joelee and Dude’s Tuff Honey. This entire section is made up of those great mares and their offspring, so suffice it to say this was a fortunate trip for us!
